Clinton Pleaded With Meek to Withdraw

Apparently Meek agreed twice to ditch his campaign and endorse Crist for Senate in a last ditch effort to gain Democratic control of the seat vacated by former Senator Mel Martinez and George Lemieux. However, Meek renigged on his deal just before the last debate and decided to stay in the race. Both the Crist and the Meek campaigns confirmed the report to Politico. So now I guess we know who Crist would caucus with if elected to the Senate. Yet, another reason to get out and vote for Marco Rubio.

Early Voting Begins Today

We are entering the homestrech on the election- about two weeks out. It is hard to believe. The campaign season seemed to fly by and I haven’t spent nearly enough time campaigning. The next two weeks are critical to the future of all Floridans so we need to encourage our friends, neighbors, and family to get out and vote.

The campaign office is in full swing- and there will be ample opportunities to get out the vote in the next two weeks. The Last 72 hours are extremely important -as many people wait to vote until election day. During the 72 hour push we will be making calls, sign waving and walking. So if you have a few hours between now and the election- stop by the campaign office at 407 Centerpointe Cir Suite #1663- behind the Altamonte Springs Mall.

Let’s get out there and make a difference for all Floridans!

The Results Are In…

In Tuesday’s Primary Election, we had some expected wins and some unexpected losses. But overall, we have a pretty strong field for November.

Regrets to Judge Clayton Simmons lost his re-election bid to newcomer Linda Schoonover.

Regrets to Jeanne Morris who lost her re-election bid for School Board.

Regrets to Seminole County Commissioner, Mike McLean was unseated by opponent John Horan.

Regrets to Bill McCollum, who was edged out by newcomer Rick Scott in the race for Governor.

Regrets to political newcomers Don Epps and Win Adams lost their bid for County Commission to Carlton Henley.

Kudos to Sandy Adams, who had an uphill battle with a crowded field and still managed to pull out a win.

Kudos to US Representative Michael Yost, Judge Michael Rudisill, and Judge Fred Schott for being the only incumbents of the night to keep their seats.

Kudos to political newcomers Jessica Recksiedler, Linda Schoonover, Karen Almond, and Jason Brodeur for running successful yet highly contested campaigns.

Kudos to Tina Calderone and Becky Erwin, who will face each other in a runoff in November.

Kudos to Pam Bondi managed to edge out Holly Benson and Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp for Attorney General.

A Time to Mourn…

Today, we mourn the loss of Senator Ted Stevens of Alasksa, who died in a plane crash late last night. May God be with him and his family during this difficult time.

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:

“It is with deep regret that I learned of former U.S. Senator Ted Stevens’ tragic death in last night’s plane crash in Alaska. Our sympathies go out to the Stevens family and all who have lost a loved one. Senator Stevens had a long and active career serving the people of Alaska in the United States Senate and was revered for his unparalleled effectiveness at fighting for his home state interests. He was a colleague and friend to many in the Senate but he was a champion for the people of Alaska. He will be missed.”
